Why is there a "matlab coder" tag on this post? Are you trying to do this for an embedded system for some reason?
If it is not a coder question, and you don't want to use the inbuild pi() function, then what specifically are you trying to do? Code up partial sums until some tolerance is reached? Or what? What have you done so far?
You marked this with the tag "matlab coder". Is this something you need to be able to generate C code for? Or is this something you can use the symbolic toolkit for?

Sorry that was the default tag now changed it to matlab function. Can't figure out how to create infinite series.

What is the purpose of coding this? You already know the answer. Do you want to look at partial sums for some reason?
I have been given an assignment where I have to create a function that could provide me an answer of pi up to specific decimal points but the conditions for achieving that point is by using this formula.
like for input 2 I should get an output 3.14
Now I would think of some program once I could figure out a way to create such equation
I got rid of the useless matlab tag and added "infinite series" for you. By the way, you should just post this as an edit or comment to your original post rather than as an official "Answer" to your original post, which it's clearly not.
Also, is this homework? Looks like it. If it is, guidelines say that you mark it as homework otherwise someone may give you the complete answer and you run into ethical problems.
