Old MCR version Installer or Workaround

29 views (last 30 days)
Looking for the Matlab 2010 MCR installer. The MCR version is 7.14. 64 bit.
I have an older .exe compiled using that MCR and I'm trying to run it on a more powerful PC. I wasnt provided with the MCR installer by the company that compiled the exe. Matlab doesnt provide the installer for MCR versions dating that far back. If anyone knows how I can get that installer or any other workaround that would be great.

I copied the "MATLAB Compiler Runtime" folder and contents from the older PC that ran the .exe to this newer one and added a line in the PATH to the runtime\win64 folder. That was sufficient for the .exe to run successfully without actually having the MCR installer.
I had tried this previous to asking the question here but I still got an error. Turned out that the application was also dependent on Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Redistributable.

For MATLAB/MCR versions before R2012a/7.17, the advice at:
is: "Open MATLAB and run the command mcrinstaller to locate MATLAB Runtime for redistribution with your compiled components." In principle, you can install MATLAB 2010a, or any other version, from:
There might, though, be incompatibilities with newer software environments and hardware.

That advice about mcrinstaller assumes that you have MATLAB Compiler installed (for the release that you need MCR for.)

Like Walter Roberson wrote, just downloading the Matlab 2010b release wont allow me to run mcrinstaller. I would need to purchase a 2010b Compiler license as well.
