Can I use the Simscape Battery feature with only Simscape and Simscape Electrical products?

I added the "Simscape Electrical" option when I bought Simscape, but I didn't know and forgot to add the "Simscape Battery" option.
I would like to do modeling and simulation related to BMS algorithms (SOC, SOH, Cell Balancing, etc.)
However, it is difficult to purchase "Simscape Battery" again due to internal procedures.
Can I implement the algorithms and functions I want without the "Simscape Battery" option?

Hello, it is possible to do all of those things with Simulink and Simscape Electrical, but you will have to build everything from scratch. In addition, it is much faster to create battery models with Simscape Battery than Simscape Electrical. The Simscape Battery product will greatly reduce your development time and have existing examples of all of those algorithms for you to start with. I don't know how complicated your internal process is to get more software, but in the long run, I imagine having Simscape Battery will save you a lot of time.
In the meantime, please look at this project: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/36019-battery-modeling This should get you started with your existing toolboxes while you decide if you want to purchase Simscape Battery.

Joel

you might not need all of those toolboxes.
this form is a good place to start in haivng MathWorks have the correct representative talk to you since it is based on geographic location: https://www.mathworks.com/company/aboutus/contact_us.html
I don't think you need the symbolic math toolbox unless you know exactly what you would use it for.
Simulink Design Optimization is a really powerful tool that I would recommend, but you don't HAVE to have it. It has a dependency on the optimization toolbox. you can see product dependencies here: https://www.mathworks.com/support/requirements/product-requirements-platform-availability-list.html but the sales rep will help with this.
Curve fitting is nice and very cheap, but again, not necessary. Simscape Battery is the most important toolbox to make sure you have, and DSP system toolbox will be very important if you modle the BMS.

Joel
