Hi Ingvald,
You have seen a tool for ‘OsiSoft’ data import from PI vision and PI core sight. You are interested to know if there is any similar tool or toolbox for Aspen process explorer.
Aspen Process Explorer is a part of ‘aspen ONE’ suite, that allows you to visualize, analyze, monitor and access plant operations data in real time. It offers easy data access and entry, retrieving real time information from data historians using a web browser interface.
After researching I couldn’t find any direct import tool similar to the one for PI Vision / PI Core sight. Aspen Process Explorer does allow you to integrate real-time or historic data into Excel. You can try to customize the appearance of trend plots and specify plots based on statistical analysis of process data.
For more detailed configuration, you can access certain settings from within Aspen Process Explorer by going to Tools => Options and clicking on the ADSA tab
Please refer to the following reference to know more about
  • ‘aspentech’:

  2. https://esupport.aspentech.com/S_Article?id=000068812
Hope, this helps.

Thanks for your input. The excel integration or add in is unfortunately not of any use. It is slow and excel typically crashes when you work with large data matrixes and time series. But it could be a solution if aspen process explorer had the option to export to a csv file. but seems like it is required some sql scripting to also accomplish that. Anyway, thanks, will check with aspen process explorer if they could supply a easy GUI tool for csv data export.
