I have done that. Surprisingly I cannot find a matlab function to do that. I thought I am missing something obvious.

Perhaps the section just below the Note blue box at the end of that documentation page will do what you want:

Alternatively, you can save and restore all warnings.

1.Enable all warnings, and save the original warning state:

orig_state = warning('on','all');

2.Restore your warnings to the previous state:

warning(orig_state)

My co-worker has just showed me how the onCleanup work. It is a solution (but too much work).

I guess I am just surprised MATLAB does not have a function to do that. I guess I will just write my own matlab function and save the warning state in the function's persistent variable.

The OnCleanup function is mentioned in the documentation I linked to.

Whatever works in your environment is the best option.

Also consider making that part of your startup.m file. That might be easier than a persistent variable (unless there’s something I’m not understanding about this problem).
