how we can fill just sector of a circle?

i can draw a circle in a matrix form. but i dont know how to fill just a sector of it?
for example to fill a sector from angle 10 to 50 degree
any help?

alpha = linspace(10, 50)/180*pi;
patch([0 cos(alpha) 0], [0 sin(alpha) 0], 'r')
