How can i install matlab 2011 on my windows xp

I think you downloaded the Unix DVD, as the unix install program is called "install". On the Windows DVD, it's setup.exe.
If you have further questions, you can contact install support.
Double-click on "install"
Note: 2011a and 2011b require a minimum of XP SP3 according to Mathworks. However, there was a recent report here from a user that they could get it to run on XP SP2 but could not get it to run on XP SP3.

I tried sp3 and it does not work
i am also trying. its gives Error @ 99% while installation. some kind of Framwork error.....
All installation, uninstallation, and major crashes/shutdowns of MATLAB (MATLAB, not just your m-file) should be called in to the Mathworks, where they'll give you free telephone help.

Please check, if your download is correct.
The "install" icon does not seem to be an executable. I expect to find a "Setup.exe"...
