Dear All,
I'm trying to communicate with a FANUC CNC machine using TCP/IP by MATLAB. I have to read the current value of X-axis, Y-axis of the machine which are can be done by reading macro variables such as: #500, #501. But I don't how to start, what kind of knowledge I should have to do that. So my questions are:
1) Can Matlab do this works.
2) Can you give me some hints, links, tutorials to do that?
3) What kinds of knowledge should I have to that?
Please help me and thank you so much.

Hi
You can definitely do this with MATLAB.
You need to have the IP address of your CNC device, if you don't know it refer to it's manual or somehow manually you should be able to see the IP address on the device. you need to create a TCP/IP session this link will help you how to do it with matlab, you need the IP address in this step.
Then you can send commands and receive the messages and information.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
