Benelux and Denmark Sales Account Manager

Job Summary

As an Educational Sales Account Manager covering Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark and Iceland, you will be working with the full range of higher education and research organizations. You will sell to Science and Engineering schools and universities. Many of the world’s most advanced research projects rely on MathWorks products.

A dominant part of the responsibilities is directed towards achieving and maintaining customer success as the majority of universities and schools have ongoing annual agreements with MathWorks already today. The job will involve building senior level networks within the geographies, including setting up and attending academic events in the assigned countries.

You will be employing advanced team-based sales strategies and tools to position the value and impact of our products and services to our academic customers. You will work closely with local and international marketing and technical experts to achieve the expected outcome in finding and delivering value to our academic communities.

You will be part of an international team, located in Eindhoven. You are expected to travel some 25% of your time pursuing your objectives in this role.


You will be responsible for a mix of appropriate activities including generating and qualifying new prospects, opportunity management and closing sales by using a strategy-based approach.

In this role, you will be: 

  • Developing and building higher level customer relationships within existing accounts as well as finding new customers through strategic prospecting
  • Working with cross functional teams such as technical marketing, local marketing, application engineers and legal to set direction for the territory
  • Managing sales funnel in advanced CRM systems by maintaining a consistent flow of new and existing opportunities
  • Prospecting within territory to identify sales opportunities with new and existing customers


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Minimum five years in high-tech software sales, on own quota
  • Experience from sales within the educational sector is a very strong plus
  • Experience from research and/or didactics is a strong plus
  • Experience with public procurement is a strong plus
  • CRM (SalesForce, Eloqua and Altify) knowledge is a plus
