Designed for a one- to two-semester introductory course in vibration for undergraduates in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, and mechanics, Engineering Vibration serves as both text and reference manual. It contains topics normally found in an undergraduate vibrations text but also covers new topics in the areas of design, measurement, damping, and computational aspect. The goal of the book is to integrate traditional topics with a design emphasis, to introduce modal analysis, and to use computational software including MATLAB. The expanded fourth edition features new experimental data, and includes a chapter on design concepts and multiple examples to reinforce these concepts.
MATLAB is used throughout the text to solve real-world applications. In addition, a supplemental set of MATLAB code files is available for download.
