VTI Instruments MATLAB Interface to VXIbus Hardware

Control of standards-based VXIbus instruments for high-performance, multichannel measurement

Highlights

  • Directly control VT1432A VXIbus hardware from MATLAB® using standard VXIbus Plug & Play

  • Make measurements in four domains: time, frequency, angle, and order
  • Achieve simultaneous sampling at rates up to 196,608 Sa/sec/channel for hundreds of channels
  • Transfer binary data online to MATLAB arrays at > 2 MB/sec via an embedded VXIbus Pentium PC
  • Output arbitrary waveforms or use built-in random, burst-random, or sine waveforms

Description

Four cylinder automotive engine vibration response to a 10 second engine run-up

VTI's MATLAB Interface to VXIbus Hardware enables a customer familiar with MATLAB to set up and control VXIbus multichannel measurement hardware consisting of VTI's VT1432A (16 channel 51.2 kSa/s/channel digitizer with DSP), VT1433B (8 channel 196 kSa/s/ch digitizer with DSP), and VT1434A (4 channel 65 kSa/s arbitrary source).

Typical customers perform multichannel measurements dealing with noise, vibration, and general-purpose data acquisition systems. MATLAB replaces expensive third-party turnkey software packages or low-channel-count instruments and provides the flexible data analysis tools that are typically needed in online measurement and analysis systems.
