Image Quality Assessment (IQA) GUI
This version of GUI gives users the ability to automatically compute PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and MSSIM (Mean Structural Similarity) of different types of images. The GUI prompts user to enter an ideal (original) image. Next, the user can flexibly corrupt the image with additive or multiplicative noise. We have designed the GUI such that varied densities of noises can be added to the input image—a practice that allows one appreciate the capabilities of PSNR and MSSIM to faithfully quantify quality of the images. Note that PSNR measures signal strength independent of the human visual system (HVS) while MSSIM associates HVS in determining quality of an image.
In the second version, we plan to incorporate batch processing into the GUI. With this functionality, users can compute at once PSNR and MSSIM of multiple images. In addition, the revised GUI will allow users to quickly and more conveniently evaluate performances of various restoration and enhancement methods
