Why am I unable to deploy the documentation example WebFigureQuickStart.war on Apache Tomcat 6.0 Web Server using MATLAB Builder JA 2.2.2 (R2011a) on 64-bit Linux?

When I try to deploy the example WAR I get the following error:

ERROR: Could not access the MCR component cache

This is due to missing permissions on the directory to which the MCR Cache is written. Enable MCR_CACHE_VERBOSE as described in the below web page and check permissions on the MCR Cache path returned.
