MathWorks offers tool support and detailed information about compliance with IEC 61508. You can find information regarding MathWorks support for IEC 61508 at the following link:
For R2009a+, MathWorks introduced IEC Certification Kit (for IEC 61508) product. Please visit the product page shown below or obtain a trial for details on MathWorks support of this standard.
For releases prior to R2009a+, more information on tool support can be found in the documentation for Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder and Simulink Verification and Validation. Navigate to the section titled 'Developing Models and Code That Comply with Industry Standards and Guidelines' in the Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder documentation. The sub-section titled Developing Models and Code That Comply with the IEC 16508 Standard' has more information on tool support.
For detailed documentation, you can request information based on the procedure and requirements listed below.
To request the detailed document that explains how to work with the IEC 61508 standard for C code generated from Simulink and Stateflow, using Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder, contact MathWorks Technical Support at:
1. From the menu on the left side, choose 'Create New Service Request'.
2. Select the options 'Technical Support', 'Request general technical support', and 'Code Generation from Simulink / Real-Time Workshop'.
3. Fill in as much detail as possible on the forms to allow us to provide information relevant to your version of MATLAB and Simulink.
4. In the Problem Description and Details section, indicate that you have an active or planned IEC 61508 project and are willing to provide feedback on MathWorks IEC 61508 support.
Include the reference to the Solution ID number 1-32COJP in your service request.
