MATLAB Frozen on Mac OS 10.6.8

I'm running MATLAB R2012b on Mac OS 10.6.8. I hadn't run MATLAB in a couple months, and the OS just updated with a large security update. After the update, I tried to run MATLAB, and it's frozen. I don't see a cursor in the command window, and I can't navigate to another folder/path in MATLAB or highlight any files in the Current-Folder pane. I re-installed MATLAB R2012b, and it still behaves the same way.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks Shashank! I'm downloading the recommended Jave update now.
