Why is a Simulink Check license checked out, even if I am not using any functionality from this toolbox?

This may happen because of the "Display Advisor Checks in Editor" option for Model Advisor which is a feature of Simulink Code Inspector.

The edit-time checks for Model Advisor keep running even if there are no blocks in the model. This will check out a license.

You can find this option here: Analysis > Model Advisor > Display Advisor Checks in Editor.
