"Crash" means usually, that the application stops. Usually an error message is shown then. Which "control panel" do you use and what do you observe exactly? Maybe Matlab stuck during checking the license. How long did you wait? Do you have a multi-monitor setup, such that the window is simply out of view due to a switched of monitor? Did your Matlab run after the installation?

Sorry for the late reply as I am experimenting this prob. So, after I posted the comment above, I decided to unistall completely Matlab 2018b (I search for all Matlab relate files and folders and delete them too) and install 2017a instead wth the update patch associated with it (update patch 3). The few days after the installation was fine, the startup time were good. Then after around 5 days not opening it, It became like the 2018b prob. When I see in the Task Manager window, Matlab seems to stuck in the backgroud process and not in the running Apps process. Please refer picture

Then after around 30 minutes, Matlab open up and functionning but it gives a warning massage:
Warning: "C:\Users\user\Documents\MATLAB" selected using the Last Working Folder preference could not be
accessed.
Using "C:\Users\user\OneDrive - Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS\Documents\MATLAB" as the initial working
folder instead.
Thats it.

Matlab and OneDrive? I used these expressions in an internet search engine and found: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/354614-cd-to-onedrive-doesn-t-work-on-windows-10-build-16273-1 . Does this help?
