Can monthly mean solar radiation and wind speed data be use for techno-economic optimization or must it be converted to daily mean data?

I want to simulate optimal sizing of hybrid solar/wind/battery, but I only have monthly mean data. I need assistance and guidance.

Hello, depends on the time range of your analysis. Is the study area constantly disturbed by storms (like sand storms) and clouds?. I'm currently working on a similar analysis in the south of Chile, here, the diurnal variability of the cloudiness is extremely high, so I ca not work with monthly averages (climatology), they did not represent radiations patterns here.
