In order to install the MathWorks Features or Hardware Support Package on the offline machine, you will need to install MATLAB on a machine that can connect to the internet and download the Add-On on that machine. Once downloaded, you can transfer the files to the offline machine using physical media.

Download MathWorks Feature or Hardware Support Package

  1. Open Add-On Explorer
  2. Find the MathWorks Add-On (Feature or Hardware Support Package) that you would like to download/install.
  3. Click on the Install button and the drop down menu should appear.
  4. Click on Download Only, then select I accept for the License Agreement.
  5. Click on Next and wait for the download to finish.

[repeat 2-5 for any other MathWorks Feature or Hardware Support Package. You can download as many MathWorks Feature or Hardware Support Package as you want and this will place the files into the archives folder]

Install on machine without internet

  1. Once download(s) finish, you would just need to move the complete folder (e.g. R2016b folder) over to the computer you want to install on or have it visible from a network location
  2. Double click on the Install_supportsoftware file on any machine that installation should be initiated on.
  3. Select the Add-Ons desired to be installed that show up on the next page and click next.
  4. Progress through the installation

If you have a proxy server, enter your proxy address and credentials into MATLAB Preferences to connect MATLAB to the internet.

If you do have a proxy and you are encountering a connection error or a login issue with your MathWorks account inside of the Add-Ons explorer window, then you would need to set an environment variable to bypass the login.

The environment variable needs to be set outside of MATLAB, if you need assistance setting this environment variable please, talk to your local IT as they may have a particular way it will need to be set. This environment variable should be set to:

MW_LOGIN_SERVICE=https://mathworks.com

Once you finish your Add-On(s) installation please remove this environment variable.

This is Stuart again with an update.

The TEMPORARY fix of downloading as well as installing the HWSP on the internet machine and then copying the whole directory across from the internet machine to the offline machine seems to have enabled all the things I've tried so far. The common support package directory is found in C:\ProgramData\Matlab for 2016b.

Note you still have to go through the process of attempting to install the packages on the offline machine as, although it will fail, you get enough of the stuff "registered" within Matlab/Windows for the software to work.

Hi,

This is probably the wrong place for the following ERROR but it's my best guess.

This happens on both the offline and the internet connected machine.

SUBJECT: Comms System HWSP for Embedded E3xx USRP

I've tries both the Examples for HW/SW Co-Design Workflow and they both fail when trying to send the Software down to the E3xx aka "Deploy To Hardware". Note that both examples work in the "External Mode".

The process fails when trying to build the .elf to be sent to the SDCard (I think). The following details the failure from the "Diagnostics Viewer". A lot of text I'm afraid but the "Attach file" button doesn't work. The interesting stuff is at the end (lots of "undefined reference to xxxxxx" )....
