For the green and blue accelerometer block in Simulink, what kind of input are you supposed to put in the R port?

For the accelerometer, what kind of input are you supposed to pun in the R port so that the accelerometer produces a voltage? Simulink says that it is the mechanical translational port and it seems like acceleration is supposed to go in that port. However, I am not sure how to do that. So far, what I have tried doesnt really work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The R port in the Accelerometer is a translational port. The accelerometer provides an output voltage that is proportional to the acceleration rate presented at the mechanical translational physical port R. A simple model using the accelorometer is:
