(Removed) Set up MATLAB to work with third-party tools

The function setupTools is no longer required and has been removed. For more information, see Compatibility Considerations.



setupTools(dev,'ToolName',ToolName,'ToolPath',ToolPath) sets up MATLAB® to work with third-party tools that are required for running the support package.

setupTools modifies the PATH system variable in the current MATLAB session based on the argument ToolPath. Changes to PATH apply to the current MATLAB session only.

Create a radio object for interfacing with USRP®[1] E310 radio hardware. Set up Xilinx® Vivado® development tools from a full installation on a Windows® machine using the radio object.

dev = sdrdev('E310');
setupTools(dev,'ToolName','Xilinx Vivado','ToolPath', ...

Input Arguments

Interface to radio hardware, specified as a comm.SDRDevE310 (removed) radio objects. To create this object, use the sdrdev function.

Name of third-party tool, specified as a character vector. The only valid value is 'Xilinx Vivado'.

Full path to the third-party tool executable, specified as a character vector.

Example: 'C:\Xilinx\Vivado\2018.2\bin\vivado.bat'


To execute setupTools commands automatically when MATLAB starts, add the commands to the MATLAB startup.m script.


If you have HDL Coder™ installed, you can set up third-party HDL tools for use with MATLAB using hdlsetuptoolpath instead.
