Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process — from proactive sourcing and screening to interviewing, offer management, and onboarding — ensuring a seamless experience for candidates and hiring managers.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and engage high-caliber talent through creative sourcing techniques, direct outreach, and professional networking. Build and maintain pipelines for current and future roles.

  • Hiring Manager Partnership: Partner deeply with hiring managers as a unified hiring team. Understand role requirements, align on strategy, share market insights, and work together to deliver strong hiring outcomes.

  • Employer Branding: Strengthen MathWorks’ reputation as an employer of choice in Japan by leveraging digital platforms, events, and partnerships to promote our culture and mission.

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage recruiting-related projects that engage recruiters across the globe, driving alignment, best practices, and continuous improvement throughout our worldwide Recruiting organization.

  • Candidate Experience: Deliver a thoughtful and engaging candidate journey where every candidate feels valued and informed.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with recruiters across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. to share best practices and ensure consistent recruiting excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proven experience in agency or in-house recruiting, preferably within technology, engineering, or sales domains.

  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written is required)

  • Strong sourcing capabilities with a proven record of identifying and engaging top talent.

  • Skilled in assessing, interviewing, and closing candidates effectively.

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze metrics and adjust strategies.

  • Comfortable providing feedback to interviewers and hiring teams to improve process outcomes.

  • Relationship-builder with a collaborative and proactive approach.

  • A passion for driving business growth through talent acquisition.
  • Experience hiring across both Japan and international markets is a plus.
  • A great sense of humor is always appreciated!
