In this role you are the technical point of contact for a set of project-based customers.

Together with the sales team you empower our customers to solve their business challenges and build long-term partnerships. You demonstrate the value of model-based design workflows, cutting-edge software development, algorithm design and advanced analytics in MATLAB and Simulink.

Grow adoption in commercial projects and leverage your insights to paint a vision of how MathWorks fosters success in different industries.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan and create a vision for success. You develop and plan to deliver excellent technical solutions that address the requirements of our customers. Jointly with the technical and sales team you make customers successful by applying state-of-the-art algorithm design in MATLAB/Simulink and enhancing development workflows. It is up to you to craft a vision for customer success.
  2. Manage customer projects. You work as primary contact with customers during consulting engagements. You will lead a team to achieve the project goals by resolving technical challenges on your own and assigning tasks to other experts. You monitor progress, estimate and track budgets, as well as communicate progress to technical teams and management.  
  3. Make it happen.You will conceive solutions and application architectures, develop and test software components, package and deploy coordinated applications in a wide range of industries. With your enthusiasm for learning about new technologies, you will drive our customers success.
  4. Foster collaboration. Resourcefulness is a must-have for this role. Through your customer engagements you establish business relationships with leading users of our products. Likewise, you advocate on behalf of customers and influence the future of MathWorks offerings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Professional Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. 
  • Candidates for this position must hold a valid work permit in the Netherlands.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 30%.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in presentations and in conversations.
  • Experience working in a customer facing role, e.g., estimation and negotiation of budget.
  • Agile project management experience.

Tools, Processes & Methods

  • Strong working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Modern software development processes (DevOps) as well as CI/CD.
  • Algorithm design and implementation.
  • Software architecture experience using Object Oriented Programming.
  • Interest in or experience with advanced analytics/AI, e.g., soft sensors, surrogate modeling, predictive maintenance or reinforcement learning.  
  • Experience in system level simulation and with model-based design reference workflow.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Cloud and data platforms is a plus.
