We are looking for an experienced leader to manage the UX function in our Bangalore office. In this role, you will oversee and grow a team of designers and researchers, including managers. You’ll play a critical role in mentoring leaders, scaling the team, and fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and user-centered design excellence.

The Bangalore UX team focuses on designing complex software products used by engineers and scientists. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate intricate workflows and technical requirements into intuitive, impactful user experiences that solve challenging design problems and drive meaningful outcomes.

As a senior leader, you will define the UX vision for the Bangalore office, guide the team’s strategy and execution, and align with our global design practices to ensure consistent, high-quality experiences across all products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the UX function in the Bangalore office, overseeing a team of designers, researchers, and managers.
  • Mentor and coach the UX team to work effectively and efficiently with their cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Customer Facing Engineers and other cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet user needs, technical requirements, and business goals.
  • Scale the team by hiring and retaining top talent, while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles, ensuring customer needs are prioritized in decision-making.
  • Ensure design consistency and scalability through the effective use of design systems and global best practices.
  • Represent the UX team’s contributions to stakeholders and leadership, advocating for its impact on product and business success.
  • As a member of the UX management team, participate in the planning, implementation and execution of annual goals and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 15 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required. 5 years management experience is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • People management experience (software company preferred), including developing management skills in others and handling complex employee relations is required.
  • Experience working on complex software products, especially for technical users like engineers or scientists.
  • Strong ability to mentor and coach managers and senior team members, fostering leadership and professional growth.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, aligning cross-functional teams (e.g. Software Development, Quality Engineering) around user and business goals.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles, research methodologies, and interaction design is a plus.
  • Experience with design systems and ensuring consistency across multiple product lines is a nice to have.
