Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for contributing to the marketing and sales of MathWorks sophisticated engineering products to customers in the Industrial Automation mechanical engineering industry; designing and developing sophisticated mathematical simulations of physical systems to demonstrate the application of MathWorks products in industrial automation systems; developing industrial automation systems through the use of modeling and simulation to validate their behavior in real-time environments and predict their behavior in untested environments; working as part of an engineering team to design, develop, and implement real-time software applications for various mechanical engineering requirements; partnering with automation machinery manufacturers and power engineering customers to help them advance their ability to develop and analyze complex mechatronic systems; driving MathWorks’ Technical Computing and Model-Based Design products in the Industrial Automation sector; advocating for the future direction of MathWorks products based on customer interactions; contributing to continuous improvement of customers’ methodologies, best practices, tools and techniques for more effective product usage; maintaining high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and ownership of issues; working on multi-disciplinary projects covering areas of computer programming, simulations, mechanical engineering, and instrumentation; and identifying and addressing the technical needs of customers and translating their objectives into programmatic frameworks to facilitate and increase customer adoption of MATLAB and Simulink solutions. Requires frequent travel and on short notice.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering and two (2) years of experience in job offered or two (2) years of experience using MATLAB and Simulink to build simulations of physical systems.
- Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, Java, and Python.
- Demonstrated expertise in real-time modeling and simulation of physical and control system design using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Demonstrated expertise guiding and teaching engineers or engineering students to model and analyze a physical engineering system using MATLAB or LabView simulation software.
- Demonstrated expertise delivering embedded system product demonstrations to customers in the automation machinery industry.
