The Trendy application is being retired in the new year. The new web application, ThingSpeak, offers similar functionality. We recommend that active Trendy users who are looking to create new trends use ThingSpeak. To begin collecting your data in ThingSpeak, please read the tutorial : ThingSpeak for Trendy users. Although Trendy no longer allows the creation of new trends, the application will still remain accessible until January 13, 2016. Until that date, you can view your current trends and download your data. After that date, your data will no longer be accessible. Thanks for using Trendy and we encourage you to check out ThingSpeak.

Time to say goodbye to Trendy.

and to further clarify: this issue does not happen in Trends. If your trend runs into an error, users are notified and they can fix the trend code and have it back running normally with no issues. In Plots, if your plot runs into an error that is pretty much a death sentence for the plot, users can fix the code but the "This plot is broken" tag will remain and the plot will never be run automatically again at the scheduled times...

to clarify: the issue is that once your plot gets a "This plot is broken" tag, users can never get rid of that tag even after fixing the plot code, and hence the plot is never again automatically updated.

to Trendy administrators: could somebody please remove the "This plot is broken" tag on this plot? The code works just fine, I can click on "regenerate plot" whenever I wish to update the plot, yet the presence of this tag is avoiding this plot from automatially updating once a day as it should. The same issue is happening in plot 1554, and many other people's plots as far as I can tell.

Is this air temperature?

you can delete the last data point and then fetch data again... ;-)

AGAIN?????

This F***ing PLOT IS BROKEN.... AGAIN????

Mr. MathWorks this is really annoying!!

The plot with #ID 1588 has EXACTLY the same content as this plot, but this plot is broken and the new one is NOT!!!

here the link:
http://de.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/trendy/plots/1588

I don't understand why.

New record : 26 Jul 2015
31 degrees in my village Corbières versus 16 degrees only at Meudon! 15 degrees of difference

Why is this plot disabled??

"mi no comprende!!" O_o

HAHAHA

This plot is amazing, because it show clearly the Spam attack a couple months ago...

Data mining. Really cool!

also, my new plot code is wrapped into a big try/end, I am hoping that will put an end to this issue...

oh, come on, you *have* to be kidding (see last comments on plot http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/trendy/plots/1192)

I have the same problem with almost all my plots... :-( it was annoying to copy all the plots.

I disabled this problem because it was not updating properly (I could not get rid of the "this plot is broken" message even though the offending code had been fixed). A copy of this plot can now be found in http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/trendy/plots/1554

Very original. Nice!

Thanks for the note Jan. Not sure what happened, but hopefully it's back on track now.

Hello Ned. Couple of trends stopped on 16 Apr, any ideas why?

It's a good idea. Maybe you can give it a try? The data is all out there.

A lot of the top 25 contributors have plateaued and are not active anymore. Can you make another one that has a list of the Top 10 most active contributors? You could check the top 50 or so contributors and find out which have increased their score the most in the past, say, 3 months, and display their curves.

Very nice plot. I didn't know about Trendy until recently, and this makes it look very tempting...

More problem groups (challenges) might help reinvigorate the site.

As J.R! said... :-)

I would like to apply this wonderfull representation to time series in a clinical research (patients for players and visits for dates). Congratulations !

Fu**ing AMAZING!!
This is really nice... Thanks Alfonso!

Thanks! I wanted to pay tribute to everyone that made it (or will make it) into this list, so many stories in these curves!

This is gorgeous Alfonso! My compliments to the chef.

Oh, common, they closed the API only to open it again after several days?...

Improvements:
- New background color for ach subplot
- Degrees diplayed using Tex symbol : \circC

Nice and its realistic....watch the clustering of different moods...its amazingly correct.

Well, Google has finally closed the old search API. Now it is required to have an API key to use JSON search. I don't see a way to use it without exposing it to the wild (not that it matters a lot, but still).

You can delete directly the colected data on the Trend page (http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/trendy/trends/2326/trend_data?page=2), but only if you are the owner (creator) of the Trend.

Otherwise you can exclude the sample on your plot script:
- find the sample
- delete the sample
- plot the results

this process can be automated or hard coded, as you like.

Normalised to what?

Weather.com changed their API dramatically.

Yes, that's good. How about another trendy that works with the top 10 contributors?

Sharp drops are due to stock splits. Probably should take that into account in the plotting.

I've ordered the lines in the legend based on where they are from top to bottom on the last day. That should help disambiguate a little.

Better. The two lime green lines are still pretty close by my eyes and my monitors.

This chart is so beautiful, to see the top players on Cody. One day my name will be there!

Is there any way to delete the erroneous point (Early October) for Jobs?

I tightened the time view a little and tried to make the colors more obviously unique.

There are two curves for blue, green, and red. We don't know which red curve is which person. Can you make all the colors be unique?

The comment about Cody was a copy-and-paste mistake. Thanks for pointing it out. Running the code outside the context of Trendy is a little tricky, since you need to bring the data down from the site. Here's a post that might help: http://blogs.mathworks.com/community/2014/07/11/weather-prediction-how-far-can-you-go/

How do you run this? Copying and pasting the code gives the error

Undefined function or variable 'time1756'.
Error in test3 (line 5)
t = time1756;

The first line says "Top players in Cody" - do I need to do something in Cody first?

The plot is not broken. Trendy just thinks that it is.

Rapidly dropping in popularity!
