Simulink Model Does not open

Hello everyone,
I have a very strange error regarding my Simulink model... It simply does not open.
To give everyone some background, I made some changes to a version control simulink model and saved it under a new name, this new model opened just fine. When opening this newly saved model the path files and the workspace would not load correctly, this was found to be from not updated the model callbacks, which I proceeded to update. The newly saved model will now load all the proper path files and will load the workspace variables but the simulink model itself will not open. Since this is worse in my mind as to the previous state I opened the newly saved model as a text file and changed the callbacks to thier original state so that I could open the simulink model without the path files and workspace variables and now nothing opens.
I have no idea what is going on, there are no errors displayed on the command window, there are no signs that matlab is still trying to load the model, and the command window is displaying the "ready" at the bottom left and is able to take in commands as if the model successfully loaded.
I am running 7.9.1 (32-bit R2009b).
If anyone would like to request additional information that I may have neglected to release so far due to my ignorance of the problem please let me know and I will respond promptly.
Any information on how to solve this dilemma would be absolutly invaluable to me and I would greatly appreciate it.
Joe
